Steve is based in Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom, and comes from a background of hands on pig production, having spent 22 years on the ground. Steve has been managing swine units for some of the country's most accomplished producers, and has experienced many different systems both indoors and outdoors. This production knowledge was invaluable when Steve moved onto the other side of the farm gate, working with some of the world's leading breeding companies to help farmers deliver their units full potential. Steve also has some pig procurement knowledge and an understanding of the carcasses sought after by the processors and retailers, working closely with producers to ensure they had a desirable product that could be delivered efficiently in the demanding marketplace.
Steve has now joined with Tonisity to help bring the Tonisity Px product to the UK and Ireland markets. Talking about his new role, Steve said: “I first heard about Px when reading an article back in April and I think the UK will benefit massively from what it has to offer. With the huge increases in numbers born in recent times in the UK herd the stock man needs every tool he can get to help turn those extras born into extras reared with a better potential growth. I'm looking forward to seeing the benefits Px has to offer becoming a reality to our herds.”
“We are very excited to have Steve joining our team. His experience and wide network will be very helpful to introduce the concept of Tonisity Px to the United Kingdom and Ireland, our home market” said Mathieu Cortyl, General Manager Europe and Asia at Tonisity. “His commitment to improve economic performance of swine units makes him a perfect fit in his new role, where he will implement a business strategy to boost product adoption of Tonisity Px™, the first isotonic protein drink for pigs.”
