The best of both worlds meet when Danish Tulip Food Company is acquiring Nietfeld with effect from January 1, 2010.

Today the management of Tulip Food Company and the owners of Nietfeld signed an agreement, according to which Nietfeld will become part of Tulip Food Company. With the acquisition of Nietfeld, Tulip Food Company’s turnover in Germany will increase significantly, and Flemming N. Enevoldsen, CEO of Tulip Food Company, has great expectations for the future following a successful merger of the two companies.

- There is a perfect match between the two companies. Both companies have a reputation for high quality food products and a strong commitment to excellent customer service. And the product ranges of Tulip and of Nietfeld support each other very well. With the acquisition of Nietfeld, we will have a lot more to offer to our customers, says Flemming N. Enevoldsen.

He has been looking to expand in Germany for some time, and now he has found the perfect match.
- We have for some time wanted to expand our presence in Europe’s largest market. With Nietfeld we found a very modern manufacturing site, excellent staff and management and an impressive growth record – not least due to many innovative products, says Flemming N. Enevoldsen and continues:

- Together we can now offer a wide range of products to both the retail sector and the food service sector. And through Tulip’s European sales organisation, we feel confident that we can increase the export share of Nietfeld and thereby continue the successful track record for the company.

Gottfried Nietfeld, one of the two former owners of Nietfeld, has expressed great expectations for the future of the company.

- When we decided to look for new owners of our family business, it was important for us to look for a company with values which are similar to our own. We feel a strong commitment to our customers and our employees. Our first choice was Tulip Food Company and I am pleased that this worked out, says Gottfried Nietfeld.

Gottfried Nietfeld will continue in the company and thereby secure continued full support to the customers and the new owners.
