The complex will be built on a 22.4ha site in Ben Luc District and will consist of a slaughterhouse, a food processing system, freezer units and waste treatment facilities.
Key products will include Chinese sausage (1,200 tonnes per year); tinned food (2,500 tonnes); hot dogs (45,500 tonnes) and pork-pie (2,000 tonnes). It will supply 38,000-40,000 tonnes of pork, 4,600-5,000 tonnes of beef, 8,000-10,000 tonnes of poultry for the market each year.
Construction will begin at the end of 2010, and the complex will be operational in late 2012; it will be Viet Nam’s biggest food processing complex. The company recently signed an agreement with Laos’ Mittaphab Agriculture Development to help Lao companies develop slaughter and meat processing industries.
