VIV Europe 2010 back to its roots in Utrecht

VIV Europe 2010 will take place from April 20 - 22, 2010 in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht, The Netherlands. The international exhibition on innovative animal husbandry aims to be the ultimate meeting place for international top decision makers in the feed to meat industry. This year two special themes with related conferences will be presented at the exhibition, Eggs! and Meat Safety. Up to 400 companies from 32 different countries have already booked a stand, covering about 75 % of the total exhibition floor.

During the official opening of VIV Europe 2010, three guest speakers will discuss issues of development concerning the innovative animal husbandry. Professor Dr. John Hodges, animal geneticist, will elaborate on 'Sustainable Agriculture and Food. Mrs. Gerda Verburg, Minister of Agriculture in The Netherlands, will discuss Nature and Food Quality and Nan-Dirk Mulder, Associate Director, Food & Agri Research/Rabobank, will share information about 'Global investments in the animal protein sector.

Feed to Meat
This year the Feed to Meat chain concept will be present at VIV Europe 2010! The exhibition venue will have a clear division in specific sectors, divided in the beginning, middle and end of the animal protein chain. The following division has been made; halls 8 & 9 will feature companies active in animal health, feed ingredients & additives; halls 10,11 & 12 will host companies active in, animal housing, farming & breeding and hall 7 mainly focuses on meat, egg and feed processing, packaging & handling companies. The division has been made to visualize the different parts of the Feed-to-Meat Chain, with its innovative topics.

Meat Safety


Meat Safety is the second theme presented by VIV and Positive Action Publications (Pig Topics, Poultry Production & Hatchery Practice). The Meat Safety Pavilion will be the meeting place for innovative development regarding meat safety. In co-operation with a steering committee, themes and topics are developed to inform and advise about safety in meat production and processing. Conferences on Meat Safety and Meat Safety stands will be present at the pavilion.

Dedicated Conferences& Technical Sessions


Alongside the conferences on special themes Eggs! and Meat Safety, a conference on Incubation, an International Post Graduate Course and a conference of COST and the European Science Foundation will be held. Besides these conferences, technical sessions will be offered, in which companies and researchers will give educational presentations.
