On November 8th, 2006, Zhongpin announced that it has commenced production in the Heilong Jiang province, the Company’s first in Northeastern China. The new factory adds 80 tons / per day total production capacity which comprises 50 tons/ per day of chilled meat and 30 / tons per day of frozen meat. The distribution network covers Heilong Jiang province and other areas of northeast China. Mr. Baoke Ben, Executive Vice President of Zhongpin, commented，“Increasing production capacity in Heilong Jiang province is a crucial part of Zhongpin’s strategy of penetrating the northeastern market. Zhongpin intends to increase its market share by catering to the demand for high quality meat products in this region. The Company plans to fully utilize the local resources in Northeastern China to further penetrate the new region.”
