The HI93703 portable turbidity meter is specially designed for water quality measurements, providing reliable and accurate readings, even within low turbidity ranges.

  • The instrument is based on a state-of-the-art optical system that guarantees accurate results, ensures long-term stability and minimises stray light and colour interference.
  • Periodic calibration with supplied standards compensates for any variations in tungsten lamp intensity.
  • Special optical glass 25 mm cuvettes ensure repeatability of turbidity measurements.
  • Up to three-point calibration
  • Cuvette safety system
  • Water-resistant keypad water

Features of the Hanna HI93703 Portable Turbidity Meter

Single Beam Design - The HI93703 measures turbidity using a light detector at 90° for scattered light detection. Turbidity measurements can be made in the range of 0.00 to 1000 FTU.

ISO Compliance - The HI93703 meets and exceeds the requirements of the ISO 7027 method for turbidity measurements by using an infrared LED light source. Since this meter has been designed to follow this ISO method, units are displayed in FTU (formazinc turbidity unit); FTU is equivalent to the other internationally recognized unit of NTU (nephelometric turbidity unit).

Calibration: The HI93703 has a powerful calibration function that compensates for variation in light intensity. Calibration can be performed using the supplied calibration solutions or with user-prepared standards. A two- or three-point turbidity calibration can be performed using the supplied standards (0, 10, and 500 FTU).

AMCO AEPA-1 Primary Turbidity Standard: AMCO AEPA-1 supplied standards are recognized as a primary standard by the USEPA. These standards are non-toxic and made from styrene divinylbenzene polymer spheres, which are uniform in size and density. The standards are reusable and stable, with a long shelf life.

Last Calibration Date - Allows the user to store the last calibration date. Retrieving the last calibration date is easy by simply pressing the “DATE” button on the front of the meter.

Low Battery Indicator - The “LO BAT” indication will appear when the meter is in low battery mode. in the lower right corner of the screen when the batteries are low and need to be replaced. At this point, the instrument can still make approximately 50 measurements. When the battery is too low to make reliable measurements, a message will appear and the meter will automatically shut off.
