The animal prefers to feed on the porridge, which gives us a higher average daily gain.
Dry/wet feeders are used in transition, rearing, and fattening stages; pigs feed 20% faster with moistened feed. This increases voluntary intake by 1.5% during the rearing phase, decreasing the amount of feed needed to gain 1 kilo during this phase by 5%. This translates into even greater gains during the fattening phase, reducing the number of days each batch waits until slaughter.
OUR OWN DESIGN
The carefully studied design of the hoppers allows us to reduce waste. Proper feeder adjustment is the easiest way to improve feed conversion. The cost of this feed waste can reach levels that are incompatible with the farm.
