Danish Pig Genetics P/S’ high health status is backed up by experts, as there are sets of rules regarding health inspections, transport and infections.

THE DANISH SYSTEM - SPF STATUS

Breeders guarantees the best from our suppliers in terms of production potential, but also in terms of healthy breeding animals and semen from healthy boars.

In Denmark, SPF-Sund (part of Danish Agriculture and Food Council) controls and develops the SPF-System, and declares the health status in all pig herds.

SPF-Sund, pig producers, veterinarians and pig-transporters agree to follow SPF-Health rules and SPF-Transport rules.

All our suppliers have the highest health status: Red SPF – and in standard situation, they are subject to regular testing for:

Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, Atrophic rhinitis, Swine dysentery, PRRS, Mange and Lice.
