PRIORITY TO EFFICIENCY AND ROBUSTNESS

At Danish Genetics, our breeding goals and index calculations get updated, as we continuously reevaluate the importance of our animals’ characteristics.

This year’s index update results in:

• Improved breeding precision
• A strong emphasis on feed efficiency through the breeding goal “Saved feed”
• More focus on survivability, continued attention to litter size
• An adjusted index ranking of the animals

EASY TO MANAGE

A high number of piglets with high survivability? Yes! With this update, we focus on survivability, so we double the importance on piglet survival in our index calculation. Our sows will keep producing a high number of piglets and increasing the number of weaned piglets. Stronger sows, stronger piglets, greater results, easier job!
