INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS

Since the beginning of Danish Genetics, we have relied on a truly productive collaboration with Roslin Technologies, the world-famous biotech company associated with the University of Edinburgh. Together, we built and computed the indexes of our high-performance breeding animals.

As our company grew, we decided to in-house these tasks, and we have invested in large-scale computer infrastructure. We have opted for the licensed software “DMU”, the breeding value estimation program developed by Aarhus University; and we work in close relationship with geneticists from Abacus Bio to customize and develop our genetic evaluation.

Today, we combine the work from top-tier external specialists and from our own employees. Our team consists of highly skilled genetic specialists, IT developers as well as a host of other people experienced in farm management and the agriculture business in general, who are responsible for handling and developing large databases, which are updated daily with registrations from breeding herds, directly through the management programs used by our partners.

As a result, we are in full control of our breeding program and index calculations. With in-house resources and insights, we can recalibrate our indexes instantly and respond to changes immediately. Additionally, we ensure our efficiency with our IT-team, our genetic team, and our technical department working in the same location.
