The longest duration of immunity PCV2 vaccine: 26 weeks!
The first intradermal vaccine against porcine circovirus, Porcilis® PCV ID, from MSD Animal Health, has obtained official authorization to extend its duration of immunity (DOI) up to 26 weeks.
With this new claim, the PCV2 intradermal vaccine, given at 3 weeks of age or older, effectively controls viraemia and subclinical PCV2 throughout the critical finishing period and could also be utilized to vaccinate sows twice a year.
Porcilis® PCV ID is approved for concurrent use with Porcilis® M Hyo ID ONCE and Porcilis® PRRS. Porcilis® PCV ID can also be used to reconstitute Porcilis® Lawsonia ID, providing a flexible and convenient combination and allowing Farmers to protect for up to four pathogens from one single vaccination event.
Longest PCV2 protection is a new benefit of ‘The IDAL® Way’ that adds to those already known:
- Flexibility: multiple combinations adapted to your vaccination plan.
- Convenience: Reduced handling of piglets makes the vaccination process more convenient and safer.
- Improved animal health and welfare: Fewer injections and fewer manipulations means less stress for the piglets.
