Tonisity Px: More Than Just an Electrolyte

Electrolyte-in-water supplements are commonly used to promote hydration, particularly in situations of high exertion (athletes), high stress (post-weaning pigs) or diarrhoea (any species). These supplements typically contain a mixture of sugar, salts (sodium chloride and potassium chloride), and flavouring. The correct physiological balance of sodium, potassium, sugar, and water is crucial for their beneficial effect, which is measured in osmolarity. Tonisity Px: Unique Formulation & Ingredients

Most of the ordinary electrolytes-in-water products for swine have a sweet flavour, primarily driven by a high inclusion rate of glucose. In addition, none of these competitor’s formulations are isotonic. In comparison, Tonisity Px is comprised of three layers:

• An electrolyte foundation to give it the isotonicity and rehydration properties
• A layer of carefully selected proteins and key amino acids to specifically support the function of the intestinal cells and extend their lifespan
• A flavouring layer with a unique taste profile and mouthfeel that encourages piglets to drink it from just 24 hours of age, when they would only consume milk
