As part the official visit of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to Poland, which, among others, is to be conductive to the opening of the Chinese market to Polish products, a number of documents and bilateral agreements will be signed.

Bilateral talks were related to the issues of food safety, in particular as regards the access of Polish agri-food products to the Chinese market. Minister Krzysztof Jurgiel emphasised the high standards which Polish food products meet at every stage of production. At the same time, he thanked for a very good cooperation with the Chinese side, noting that he is counting on a rapid finalisation of the works, in particular in the opening of the Chinese market for Polish apples, pork, poultry parts and poultry for breeding. He also asked for simplification of the procedures regarding the conditions of export of poultry and milk.

During the meeting, the ministers signed two documents. The first one regulates horizontally the conditions for cooperation in the field of food safety, and the second one – the conditions of marketing eggs for hatching. Another three agreements on the conditions of marketing apples, pork and poultry will be signed today in the presence of the President of Poland and the President of the PRC, together with other economic agreements. These documents are of considerable importance to entrepreneurs who are interested in food export to the Chinese market and constitute a concrete step in gaining access to this market by products important to the Polish side.
