On December 25, 2024, the official veterinarian of the service for the Shëngjin Administrative Unit found that in the village of Ishull - Lezhë, 8 pigs had died on a farm with 71 pigs. On December 26, 2024, the Veterinary Service of the Lezhë Sector found that 7 more pigs had died. Official samples sent for testing with suspicion of African swine fever were confirmed positive on December 26. The farm, which was immediately placed under veterinary supervision, was in the 10-km surveillance zone with the outbreak on Mount Rrenci.
