EFSA, the European Medicines Agency and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control are to propose a list of indicators that will enable risk managers to monitor the reduction of antimicrobial resistance and the use of antimicrobials in humans, food-producing animals and food.

The indicators, requested by the European Commission, will also help risk managers assess the impact of mitigation measures and the effectiveness of their action plans.

The proposals will be delivered in the second half of 2017.
