The Argentine Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has reported the issue of Decree 776/2019, Law 27.233 which declares the following to be of national interest: animal and plant health, the prevention, control and eradication of diseases and pests affecting national agricultural and forestry production, and the production, safety, and quality of agrifoods.

This measure strengthens the legal status of the National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa), formalizes its powers, and establishes appropriate funding, allowing the governance to face challenges with greater efficiency.

It allows urgent decisions to be made to determine solutions and increases the effectiveness of Senasa's actions.
