The Senasa Laboratory is in charge of analyzing all products of animal and plant origin that Argentina exports and imports, verifying that they fulfill the health requirements both in Argentina and in the markets they are exported to, as well as periodic analysis in order to determine the presence of plant plagues and certain animal diseases.
Currently, this laboratory is the first of its type in America, and, on an international level, one of the top ten reference laboratories, according to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), for Brucellosis, Tuberculosis, Paratuberculosis, Leptospirosis, Foot and Mouth Disease, American Foulbrood Disease and the control of feed for the prevention of Mad Cow Disease (BSE).
