Argentina: Pork consumption falls in first quarter

In the last three months, per capita consumption has been estimated at around 15 kg per capita per year, almost 1.5 kg below the average recorded in 2023.

Apparent consumption of pork in the first quarter of 2024 was 177,174 tons, a drop of 4.0% compared to the same period of 2023.

Specifically for the month of March, consumption stood at 61,215 tons, a decrease of 9.6% compared to the same month of the previous year and an increase of 9.3% compared to February.

Per capita consumption was estimated at 15.41 kg per capita for the month of March.
