Argentina's pork exports grew in first four months of 2024

Exports

  • Exports increased 12.7% in the first four months of the year compared to the same period in 2023, going from 4,366 to 4,921 tons. However, the export value (USD 3.8 million) decreased 0.4%.
  • In April, 1,758 tons of pork were exported, the highest volume recorded since June 2021, representing a year-on-year increase of 96% and a 42.7% increase from March.

Imports

  • In the first four months of the year, pork imports reached 4,275 tons valued at USD 13 million, representing a decrease in volume of 48.2% compared to the same period of 2023.
  • In April, pork imports totaled 1,011 tons, a decrease of 43.9% compared to April of 2023 and an increase of 15.8% compared to March. The cumulative trade balance for the pork sector shows a deficit of USD 9.1 million.
