With the aim of preventing the entry of African swine fever (ASF) in Colombia, the Colombian Agriculture and Livestock Institute has decided to forbid the pig exhibition (all the production lines in the country, even mini-pigs) during the 22nd edition of the Agriculture, Livestock and Related Industries International Fair (Agroexpo), an event attended by many pig producers from other countries.

This preventative health measure, established in Resolution No. 7819 of 2019, was set forth in the framework of the National Committee for Swine Health, in which it was recommended to forbid the entry of this species to protect animal health and keeo the status of Colombia as a ASF-free country.
