Yesterday the National Reference Laboratory of the Friedrich Loeffler Institute (FLI) confirmed the official suspicions of African swine fever (ASF) in another wild boar near the community of Neuzelle in the Oder-Spree district. This brings the total number to 36 confirmed cases, all in Brandenburg.
The 36 infected boars were found within the core area, 9 of them near Schenkendöbern in the Spree-Neiße district and 27 near Neuzelle in the Oder-Spree district. The core area is about 150 square kilometers and has a circumference of about 60 kilometers.
