For the first time since March 2022, wild boar carcasses have been found in this district, in the former core zone 5 south of Highway 12, which is now classified as a white zone. The Friedrich Loeffler Institute, the reference laboratory for African swine fever, has confirmed the suspicion of the disease in the carcasses found.

Intensive work is currently underway together with the veterinary and food control office of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) to clarify the situation at the site and to determine the possible route of entry. An intensive carcass search with trained dogs and drones and a reduction of the wild boar population by hunting is being carried out in the white zone.
