On November 19, the chief veterinary officer of Poland reported 18 new cases of African swine fever (ASF) in feral pigs in the Lubuskie voivodship. Together with the first detected case and the second case confirmed earlier this week, the total has been brought to 20 cases of ASF in feral pigs in this voivodship, about 100 km from the German border.

Samples were taken from nine locations during searches in the contaminated area and a buffer zone has been established based on risk analysis.

Intensive searches are being carried out with the participation of the army and the construction of a new fence is being considered. Construction of the first fence was completed on November 18, 2019.
