The Ministers of Agriculture of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have sent a joint letter to the European Health and Food Safety Commissioner, Mr. Vytenis Andriukaitis, where they appeal for a higher freedom for the circulation of pigs between these countries.
All these countries are affected by pig circulation restrictions due to the presence of African swine fever. Some regions submitted to the restrictions do not have abattoirs, and this entails the need for the transport of the animals.
