ASF spreads to new area in South Korea

This is the first outbreak of African swine fever in North Chungcheong Province.

ASF was confirmed for the first time in the province of Chungcheongbuk-do on November 19 in a wild boar carcass found in Woraksan National Park, Danyang-gun. The location is about 38 kilometers southwest of Kimsatgat-myeon, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, the southernmost point that ASF has been found in the country so far.

This outbreak brings the total number of ASF outbreaks to 1,708 cases in 20 cities and counties as of November 19.
