Genetic material of ASF virus was detected in cooked sausage produced by the Orshansk meat cannery located in Orsha of the Vitebsk Oblast in Belarus.

The Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on products imported to Russia from the Orshansk meat cannery and ordered its territorial administrations to check products previously imported from the plant and take all the required measures to prevent the agent introduction to Russia with the products produced by other Belarusian plants.

The Rosselkhoznadzor made a decision to enhance monitoring of pork and pork products imported to Russia from Belarus. In case new consignments contaminated with ASF materials are detected, additional protective measures can be taken.
