The country's new Biosecurity Training Centre will help prevent exotic pests and diseases from entering Australia, protecting the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries.

Starting July 1, the Centre will offer training programs for biosecurity officers. The centre will consist of a central hub with networked training facilities around the country. It will also help contribute to research to improve and adapt the nation's biosecurity system to meet new and emerging threats.
