Thailand has announced the opening of its market to animal feed palatability enhancers (poultry and pig liver hydrolysate-based) from Brazil. Negotiations for the approval of the International Health Certificate required for trade in this type of product took around three months.
This announcement comes in addition to the recent opening of the Thai market to imports of Brazilian corn meal, one of the products resulting from the production of corn ethanol, technically called DDG (distiller's dried grains) or DDGS (distiller's dried grains with solubles), which should contribute to an increase in the flow of trade between the countries.
In 2022, Brazil exported US$ 3.14 billion worth of agricultural products to Thailand, with shipments of 5.58 million tons. The country was the third main Asian destination for Brazilian agricultural exports, according to data from the ministry's Secretariat for Trade and International Relations.
