China, United States, Netherlands, Russia and Germany were the five countries that imported more Brazilian agricultural products last year 2014, according to data from the Brazilian Agribusiness Foreign Trade Statistics System (AGROSTAT). Together, these five countries imported agricultural and livestock products worth 42,320 million dollars, representing 43.7% of total imports.
According to the ranking generated by the system, China ranked first, with a sum of 22,070 million dollars, of which 17,010 million come from its main component, soya bean.
Russia ranked fourth (3,650 million dollars), with the most important being the meat industry (2,440 million dollars). Of this amount 1,310 million were due to beef sales, 811 million to pork and 303 million to poultry.
