During last April, the Brazilian pig meat exports decreased by 25% in comparison with the same period of year 2012. The exports reached 35,618 tons, with a drop of the revenue by 20.86%.
In the annual total value, the pig meat exports reached 156,035 tons, and that means a drop by 9% with respect to January-April 2012, with a fall in revenue by 5.27%.
During the first four-month period of this year we see an increase of the exportations to Argentina by 9% (6,243 t) and to Russia by 39% (42,213 t). The main drops have happened in the shippings to Singapore (8,394 t, -10%), Hong Kong (36,333 t, -19%), and Ukraine (25,097 t, -32%) in comparison with the same period of year 2012.
The main Brazilian exporting states with respect to volume between January and April 2013 are Santa Catarina (54,211 t), Rio Grande do Sul (48,761 t), Goiás (20,933 t), Minas Gerais (13,668 t), and Paraná (11,184 t).
