Estimates for Brazilian agricultural production for the next ten years indicate significant growth for soybeans, winter corn, rice, beans, sorghum, and wheat.

This data comes from the study Agricultural Projections, Brazil 2023/2024 to 2033/2034, conducted by the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), with the support of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA).

The crops expected to grow the most in terms of planted area are soybeans (25.1%), winter corn (24.9%), wheat (18.4%), rice (+20.3%), and beans (+38.1%).

The share of domestic consumption of corn, soybean meal, and soybean oil will sustain the growth of animal protein production, maintaining domestic consumption and guaranteeing meat exports, with 24.7 million tons.

The corn harvest will reach 153.1 million tons, a growth of 32.3%, and an increase of 37.4 million tons mainly in the winter harvest, following the practice adopted by producers of cultivating after soybeans. The estimated consumption of 109.8 million t, with a growth of 30.4%, is in line with the increasing use of cereals for ethanol production, which currently processes 17.0 million t.

Soybeans will continue to have the largest production among cereals, estimated to reach 199.4 million t, an increase of 52.0 million t, and soybean meal will reach 48.5 million t, an increase of 8.36 million t over the next 10 years.

The highest growth in meat production will be in poultry meat (+28.4%), followed by pork (+27.5%) and beef (+10.2%). Consumption will see lower growth with poultry growing by 26.9%, pork by 25.4%, and beef by 0.6%.

Meat exports are estimated to grow 29.7% for poultry, 22.5% for pork, and 27.1% for beef.
