The products that contributed most to the increase in exports were the soybean complex (+USD6,300 million), forestry products (+USD1,300 million), meats (+USD1,260 million); cereals, meals and their processed products (+USD953.86 million), and the sugar-alcohol complex (+USD889.34 million).
Specifically, the sales of meats reached the second place, with a total of USD15,470 million and a growth by 8.9% in terms of value. Chicken, the main product in this sector, represented almost half (46.1%) of the exports, with a value of USD7,140 million: 5.5% more than in 2016. The pork sales showed a historic record, reaching USD1,610 million, this is, 9.7% more than in 2016.
