According to UN/Comtrade data, in 2023 Brazil was the world's largest exporter of frozen pork cuts. The country held approximately 32% of the global market for these products, totaling approximately 1.08 billion tons worth 2.6 billion dollars. The United States ranked second with a 29% share, followed by the European Union (23%) and Canada (15%).
According to Agrostat/MAPA, frozen cuts accounted for 90% of the total pork exported by Brazil in 2023, including fresh meat, processed meat, and pork offal. The state of Santa Catarina led exports of frozen pork cuts (56%), followed by Rio Grande do Sul (23%) and Paraná (14%).
In 2023, Brazil's main trading partners for this type of product were China (34%), Hong Kong (10%), and the Philippines (9.9%). China, the world's largest importer of meat cuts categorized as other frozen pork, chose Brazil as its main supplier. Brazil contributed 50% of the total volume imported by China, followed by the United States (21%) and Canada (17%).
