According to declarations made by the president of the Brazilian Association of Pork Producers and Exporters (ABIPECS), Pedro de Camargo Neto, after more than one hundred days of restrictions imposed by Russia on Brazilian pork, if losses continue the “ industry will consolidate its independence with relation to this market”.In September, just as with the annual cumulate, an increase has been noted in pork sent to Ukraine, Hong Kong, and Argentina.
Exports to Ukraine, Hong Kong and Argentina during the month of September increased in volume by 93% (10,190 t), 73.66% (14,730 t) and 8% (3,960 t), respectively.
Between January and September, exports of pork were 412.170 tons, down by 5.32% with respect to the same period in 2010, and with an increase of 5.53% in invoices.
In this same period, exports to Russia were situated at 117,800 tons, with an intake of $ 366,9 million, which signifies a 37.55% decrease in volume and a 28.52% decrease in income, compared to the same period in 2010.
