The Agriculture Minister, Katia Abreu, met with the Chinese Ambassador to Brazil, Li Jinzhang, last week with the aim of increasing the number of slaughterhouses eligible to export beef, pork and poultry to China.

Last June, a team of Chinese technicians inspected several slaughterhouses. The Ministry of Agriculture intends to have 36 new Brazilian facilities authorized.

During the meeting, the minister proposed to the ambassador that grades become official during her upcoming visit to China, scheduled for September.
