A team of pig consultants working in the Low-Carbon Pig Breeding project, developed by the Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), has been visiting pig farms in Mato Grosso.

This project, coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture's Department of Sustainable Development and Cooperatives, aims to assess and broadcast, over a year, economically viable alternatives for the treatment of waste in pig farms.

This is the reason why treatment models used in Brazil and other countries, as well as their economic viability, are being assessed. The most viable models will be broadcast via workshops in the major pork producing regions in Brazil.
