According to the Brazilian Meat Producers and Exporters Association (ABIPECS), Brazilian pig meat exports added up 517,330 tonnes and $1.36 thousand million in 2013.
These data show a fall by 11.04% in terms of the volume and by 9.12% in terms of the value of the exports in comparison with year 2012, in which the exports reached 581,520 tonnes ($1,490 million).
During year 2013, the main destinations of the Brazilian pig meat were Russia (with 26.07% of the total volume), Hong Kong (23.44%) and Ukraine (13.18%). With regard to the value, the result is the same: Russia (30.31%), Hong Kong (21.28%) and Ukraine (14.58%).
