During his official mission in Poland, the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies (MAPA), Mr Eumar Novacki, has highlighted that both countries are interested in intensifying the commercial trade in the agriculture and livestock sector. The trade relations between Brazil and Poland have a great growth potential in this sector, because currently, the Brazilian exports represent only 0.5% of the Polish imports, and Poland sells 0.2% of its products to Brazil.

Novacki met in Poland’s capital, Warsaw, with the Governing Board and the entrepreneurs of the Chamber of Commerce of Poland and with representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, and Economic Development of Poland. The Executive Secretary was accompanied by the adviser Mr Leonardo Cleaver de Athayde, Trade Manager of the Embassy of Brazil in Poland, and the Deputy Secretary of International Affairs of the MAPA, Mr Alexandre Pontes.

The retinue also visited a pork processing plant with a capacity of up to 6,000 animals per week. This visit was an opportunity to emphasise the interest of both countries for improving the access to meat and pork products, limited by health obstacles.
