In August, the increase in Brazilian exports of beef and pork roll was 14.9% and 9.3% respectively, compared with the same month last year. It is noteworthy that 97% of the increase was due to exports of these products to Russia, which acquired meat worth U.S. $ 126.7 million. Taking into account only pork exports to that country, the growth was 327.5%.
Brazil's exports of these two products amounted to U.S. $ 658 million in August. In total, the increase was 28.7% for beef (from 90,000 to 116,000 tons), and 17.6% for pork (from 46,000 to 54,000 tons).
Russia remains the main buyer of Brazilian pork (38 million U.S. $ and 14,000 tons), coming after Ukraine (28 million U.S. $ and 11,000 tons), Hong Kong (U.S. $ 24.5 million and 10.3000 tons), Argentina (U.S. $ 11 million and 3,500 tons) and Angola (U.S. $ 8.1 million and 4,200 tons).
