According to data of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), during the month of March, a total of 39,026 tonnes were exported: a rise by 5.65% in comparison with February (36,940 tonnes). The income also grew in March by 8.27%, reaching 104.52 million.
So far this year, Brazil has exported 110,834 tonnes, with an income of $291.34 million (a drop by 7.96% in terms of volume and by 8.56% in terms of income) in comparison with the first three months of 2013.
Russia still led the Brazilian pork exports ranking. In March this represented 29.77% of the total exported volume, followed by Hong Kong (28.19%) and Angola (11.79%). Ukraine, that has traditionally been one of the main clients of Brazilian pork, disappeared from the exporters' ranking.
