Santa Catarina is an international reference in meat production. From January to October, the state shipped 1.41 million tons of meat, generating revenues that exceed US$ 3.1 billion (an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period last year). This data was shared by the Ministry of Economy and analysed by the Centre for Socioeconomics and Agricultural Planning (Epagri/Cepa).
From January to October 2022, Santa Catarina exported 497,900 tons of pork, with a financial result of US$ 1.1 billion. The state represents the 55% of Brazilian shipments and is the largest pork producer in the country.
In August, Santa Catarina reached a historical record in shipments with 62.2 thousand tons shipped in a single month - 40% more than in 2021.
