Brazil: Soybean production in Santa Catarina up 93% in 12 years

In addition to the significant increase in production, the planted area has grown by more than 60% since 2012.

Soybeans have been gaining ground in Santa Catarina's agribusiness, especially in areas that used to be planted with corn. According to data from the Santa Catarina Agricultural Observatory, over the last 12 years, Santa Catarina has seen a 93% increase in soybean production and a 60.5% increase in the area planted.

For the first 2024/2025 harvest of the crop in the state, soybeans increased by 2.62% in the area planted, 9.79% in average yield, and 12.67% in the quantity produced, according to the Center for Socioeconomics and Agricultural Planning (Epagri/Cepa).
