The state government has signed an agreement to grant tax incentives to the Aurora cooperative, which will invest R$400 million in expanding its unit in São Gabriel do Oeste, with the expansion project scheduled for completion by April 2026. The region already has other cooperatives, such as Alfa, Copérdia, and Coasgo, which have also invested in increasing pig production in Mato Grosso do Sul.

With the new investments made possible through the FCO (Fundo Constitucional do Centro-Oeste) and the cooperatives, Aurora will increase its pig slaughtering capacity in São Gabriel do Oeste. Currently, the unit processes 3.2 thousand pigs daily, expected to increase to 5 thousand. The expansion project is scheduled to be completed by April 2026. The total investment, considering phases 1 and 2, is estimated at approximately R$400 million, focused exclusively on the industrial part, not including investments made by the cooperatives in pig production.

Aurora's unit in the city currently generates 2,358 direct jobs. With the expansion of the industrial plant, more than 800 new jobs will be created. In addition to São Gabriel do Oeste, the expansion will benefit neighboring municipalities such as Rio Negro, Bandeirantes, Camapuã, and Rio Verde, which already supply labor to the unit.
