Brazilian pork exports (including all products, fresh and processed) totaled 112,200 tons in September, a monthly record. The information is from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). This is 29.7% higher than exports in the same period in 2020, with 86,500 tons, and surpasses the previous historical monthly record reached by the industry in March this year with 109,200 thousand tons. In terms of revenue, September sales generated a balance of US$ 255.8 million, 35.6% higher than in September of 2020, with US$ 188.5 million.
So far this year (January to September), Brazilian pork exports have reached 868,800 tons, 13.58% higher than the 764,900 tons shipped in 2020. In the same period, pork exports generated revenues of US$ 2.061 billion, a performance 22.9% higher than the US$ 1.677 billion recorded last year. China is still the main destination for Brazilian pork exports, with 53,400 tons in September, a volume 22% higher than in the same period in 2020. Hong Kong follows with 15,700 tons (+60.9%) and Chile, with 4,800 tons (+24.5%).
