According to Secex data compiled and analyzed by Cepea, 90,700 tons of fresh and processed pork products were shipped, down 6.3% from February of this year and down by 14.3% from March 2023.

According to Cepea researchers, the drop in export volume is due to lower demand from Brazil's important Asian partners, such as China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Even so, in the first quarter of 2024, the total shipped reached 286,000 tons, 5.3% more than in the first three months of last year and a record for the period, considering Secex's historical series, which began in 1997.

Revenue in March this year reached R$953.2 million, 6% lower than the previous month and 25.9% lower than in March 2023. In the quarterly balance, Brazilian exporters received R$2.9 billion, down 11.8% on the same period last year.
