Brazilian pork exports (considering all products, including fresh and processed) maintained a high of 11.53% in volumes in the first eight months of 2021, compared to the same period last year. The survey is from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), which indicates a total of 756,500 tons between January and August this year, against 678,300 tons in 2020. In revenue, pork sales reached US$ 1.805 billion, up 21.3% from US$ 1.488 billion in the same period in 2020.
Considering only the month of August, 91,000 tons of pork were exported, down 7.5% compared to the same period last year, when 98,500 tons were shipped. In revenue, the sector saw stability, with US$ 209.1 million in August this year, against US$ 209.2 million in the previous year.
China remained the main destination for Brazilian exports, with 391,100 tons imported between January and August, 17% higher than in the same period in 2020. Other countries that stand out are Chile, with 43,400 tons (+76%), the Philippines, with 15,900 tons (+203%) and Argentina, with 19,200 tons (+88%).
Santa Catarina is the leading exporting state, with 380,900 tons exported between January and August, up 10% compared to the same period in 2020. Following are Rio Grande do Sul, with 206,500 tons (+20.73%) and Paraná, with 98,900 tons (+5.15%).
