According to surveys by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), Brazilian pork exports (fresh and processed) reached 89,700 tons in April, 8.8% less than in April of 2021, with 98,700 tons.
In revenue, sales for the month reached US$193.4 million, 16.7% lower than in the same month of 2021, with US$232.3 million.
Year-to-date (January to April), pork exports reached 327,300 tons, 7% lower than the 351,800 tons recorded in the first four months of 2021. As for revenues, there was a 16.3% decrease, with US$692 million this year, and US$826.4 million last year.
According to data collected by ABPA, China is the leading destination for exports between January and April, with 118.6 thousand tons (-35% compared to the same period last year), followed by Hong Kong, with 33.8 thousand tons (-34.8%), the Philippines, with 23.2 thousand tons (+281.3%), Singapore, with 20.1 thousand tons (+43.9%) and Argentina, with 18 thousand tons (+83.1%).
