Production of both pork and chicken could reach a new record in 2025. Influenced by heated international demand and a good pace in the domestic market, combined with controlled costs, the result of lower grain prices, pork production is expected to reach 5.45 million tons.
Record pork production will enable year-on-year increases in both the domestic and foreign markets in 2025. For the domestic market, the projected increase is 1.1%, with an estimated supply of 4.2 million tons. As for exports, Conab projects a volume of 1.27 million tons, an increase of 3%. The market diversification achieved by Brazilian producers is noteworthy. While in 2020 China accounted for more than 50% of foreign sales of pork, this share fell to less than 20% from January to August this year.
