The fourth estimate released by the National Supply Company (Conab) for the 2021/22 harvest, anticipates growth in grain production compared to the 2020/21 harvest. According to the data, Brazil's total production is expected to reach 284.4 million tons, an increase of 12.5% or 32 million tons.
With a 3.8% growth in cultivated area and an estimated production of 140.5 million t of soybeans, Brazil remains the world's largest producer of the oilseed.
In regards to wheat, the 2021 harvest was completed and production volume totaled 7.7 million t. The final result was above that obtained in the previous harvest, despite adverse weather conditions, with prolonged periods of drought and the incidence of frosts recorded in part of the cycle, which reduced the production potential. However, the increase in the cultivated area favored the crop yield.
