On February 21, 2018 in Bangkok as part of the business mission "Russia-Thailand "a meeting of representatives of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and the Department of Livestock Development of the Kingdom of Thailand was held.

During the meeting, the parties discussed technical issues on access of Russian livestock products, such as beef, pork and poultry meat to the Thai market.

The Russian side informed their Thai colleagues in detail about the system of veterinary control of livestock products and the surveillance of transboundary diseases in the Russian Federation. Besides, the issues of compartmentalization and regionalization of the Russian Federation with regard to African swine fever and avian influenza were discussed in detail. The Thai side provided the necessary explanations on the procedures for obtaining the permit for access of Russian products.

The Russian side invited Thai specialists to come on a visit to Russia for the purpose of reviewing the activities of the veterinary service in the territory of Russia. The parties exchanged direct contacts for further rapid cooperation in case of emerging issues. Also at this meeting, the issue of confirming the authenticity of veterinary certificates for Thai products transited through the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as other topical issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
